The Bendix/King KX-165 has the same basic chassis as the KX-155 but adds a VOR/Localizer converter board and digital radial feature to the Nav side. This radio is best used to drive an HSI system like the Bendix/King KCS-55A.

  • Is this a simple change-out with and existing kx-155 (14V) ?

    The KX-155 and KX-165 are not totally interchangable. You can slide a KX-165 into a KX-155 install, but only the COM side will work. the NAV will have to be rewired, plus the radios do not use the same CDI.
